Built by people who never stopped collecting

pokepoke is a fan-made studio for Pokémon-style cards. It exists because the cards we imagined as kids deserved better than a photocopier and a marker.

The story

It started with a binder and a bad printer

Every collector has a card that never existed: a starter in the wrong type, a family pet as a legendary, a friend's inside joke as a trainer. The tools to make them were either a paint program and a stolen template or a web form that spat out a blurry JPEG.

So we built the editor we wanted: real frames from three eras, fonts that match, every stat editable in place, and a canvas that redraws as you type. Then we added the things a binder needs — AI art for people who cannot draw, holo effects, and a print line that ships a real card.

Today the studio is used by collectors, league organisers, parents and streamers. Every card in the gallery started with the same blank frame.

Where we draw the line

Three rules we do not bend

They decide what ships, what waits and what never makes it in.

Accuracy first

A template is only worth using if it looks right in a sleeve. Frames, fonts and spacing are measured against the real thing, not eyeballed.

Your art, your card

AI is a paintbrush, not the author. You choose the subject, the style and the crop, and the result is yours to keep and print.

Fan-made, and honest about it

pokepoke is not affiliated with Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company. We say so on every page and never pretend otherwise.

Milestones

Four releases that shaped the studio

Each one answered a request the last one created.

  1. Milestone 01: Gen 1 templates

The 1999 base-set frame with the first-edition stamp, retro type icons and the original attack layout. The card everyone asked for first.

  2. Milestone 02: TCG Pocket

Thirteen frames, full-art layouts, ability badges and the gold crown plate, matching the mobile game's look.

  3. Milestone 03: AI studio

Text-to-image and image-to-image with thirty-six styles, paid with tokens so the free editor stays free.

  4. Milestone 04: Print

Real cards with an optional holographic finish and a custom back, shipped worldwide at one flat rate.

Made by collectors

We sleeve our own cards

The people who build pokepoke design cards in it every week and enter the monthly contest under their own names. If a frame is off by a pixel, we notice first.
